Orientation program on “Careers in Shipping Industry for Mechanical Engineers”
An orientation program was conducted by ASMA-student association of the Department of Mechanical Engineering on the topic “Careers in Shipping Industry for Mechanical Engineers” on 10th November 2021 for the students of 7th semester students of Mechanical Engineering. About 50 students attended the program. The resource person for the orientation session was Mr. Vivek V Kumar, Associate Professor, Dept of Marine Engineering. In the session he emphasized on preparation for placement especially Mechanical engineers in marine field and also in other fields. He also stressed upon personality development skills and opportunities for mechanical engineers in shipping industry.

The inaugural function of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department association 'STEADY' was held on 10th November 2021. The President of the STEADY association Mr. Ashwal Koushik of 7th sem ECE welcomed the dignitaries. The association was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Pavan Chand.

Technical talk on “Intellectual Property Rights & Prior Art Search”
A Technical talk on “Intellectual Property Rights & Prior Art Search” was organized by ASMA-student association of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Association with Intellectual Property Rights Cell (IPR-Cell) on 09th November 2021 for students of 7th Semester Mechanical Engineering. About 60 students attended the talk. Dr Raghavendra M J, Associate Professor and faculty coordinator of ASMA, Dept of Mechanical Engineering was the resource person. He gave information about Intellectual Property rights governing the use of creations, recognition and protection of the human mind thoughts. Speaker also explained about how to apply for Patents, Trademarks and copyrights system. Later a hands on session on patent search was held.

Automobile & Aeronautical Association, AMARA and IPR-Cell SIT organized a hands-on-session on “Intellectual Property Rights & Prior Art Search on 8/11/2021. The resourse person for the seminar was Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Marine Engineering, SIT. A total of 40 students of 4th year aeronautical engineering participated in the seminar.
