Self protection and Self Defence against Crime on Women

Women’s Cell in Association with “Youth against Rape, Dakshina Kannada District” organized a one day workshop on “Self-protection and Self Defence against Crime on Women”.

Advocate Nikesh Shetty with masters in Law and PG in Personal Management and Industrial relation and chair person of Child Welfare Committee Dakshina Kannada district and presently being member of Dakshina Kannada District Local Committee Constituted under the ‘Sexual harassment of Women at work place(prevention, prohibition and redressal) Act 2013 was the Chief Guest.

Kaushik BOLOOR Trained in Muay Thailand, who represented India in MMA world Championships 2015 held at Las Vegas USA, Certified MMA Instructor was the Resource person. Vice Principal Dr Shiva Kumar presided over the programme.

Prof. Marina Chandy welcomed the gathering; Prof. Veena Santhosh Rai Co-ordinator Women’s Cell introduced the Chief Guest and Resource person to the audience.

\The Chief Guest of the function Advocate K.Nikesh Shetty, gave a brief introduction of law protecting women and how to avoid crime against women he came up with valuable information regarding protection given by Indian government. Prof. Akshatha C H, member of Women’s cell rendered vote of thanks. Prof. Deepthi Shetty was the Master of the ceremony.

After the formal function resource person Mr. Kaushik Boloor conducted a workshop on self defence through Marshal Arts. Students from all the branches of Engineering, MBA and MCA participated in the session and got the benefit of the same.
