Department of marine engineering had organized a technical talk on “Benefits of Being a Merchant Navy Officer” on 11th February 2020 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Melapadavu, Mangaluru.

Mr. Shreyas Nayak Bantwal, 3rd Engineer, Anglo Eastern Ship Management was the Chief guest.Mr. Shreyas Nayak Bantwal, in his technical talk, addressed the students about the job prospects in the shipping field and in particular at Anglo Eastern . He elaborated about the selection process at Anglo Eastern and the written and interview rounds. He urged the students to be thorough in their engineering fundamentals. He talked about his personal career journey from an engineering student at Srinivas Institute of Technology to being a third engineer. He motivated the students to keep career goals and work hard to achieve them.

Dr. Shankar K S, HOD, Dept. of marine engineering congratulated the Students association members for organizing technical talk and motivated the students do well in their placements. He also asked the students to work on their aptitude and communication skills for the interviews. Faculty advisor Prof. Nithin Josua and the Placement Coordinator Mr.Vivek Vijay Kumar also addressed the gathering.

Master of ceremony was Ms. Arsala Jamsheed. The welcome speech was delivered by Mr Ganesh K .The chief guest was introduced by Ms. Mrudhula.
