A VISIT TO OLD-AGE HOME

“Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person”.

As a part of social responsibility a charity programme was held under the banner of AISE on 22nd September 2019. Students from 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of Information Science & Engineering branch of SIT accompanied by Prof. Janardhana Bhat K and Prof. Shreejith K B, visited Sri Matha Lakshani Shantidhama, an old age home.

Situated in Meramajalu, this old-age home has been housing retired people since 7-3-2005. The home is situated in quiet and peaceful environment. There are many birds and dogs which live in the compound. The retired people are from various parts of Karnataka and other neighbouring states. They interacted with students and shared their personal stories. The branch donated fruits, vegetables, rice and other food items to the old-age home. This visit was an unforgettable lesson to students as they learnt more about life, sharing and caring.
