Association of Integrated Marine Engineering Students (AIMES)

The Association of Integrated Marine Engineering Students (AIMES) was formed in the year 2013 with a motive of bringing up technical and non-technical creativity in the students. AIMES provides opportunity to students to organize technical, extra-curricular and social activities, helping them share and gain ideas, experience and knowledge from their peers which strengthen and enrich the student community. The association functions under the guidance of a faculty advisor and has office bearers elected from the students.

Aims and Objectives

• To further the knowledge and awareness in the field of Marine Engineering through activities such as workshops, invited lectures and talks and industrial visits.

• To create a spirit of brotherhood and co-operation amongst the members of the Association.

• To develop leadership and initiative, and to inculcate a sense of responsibility amongst the members of the association.

Technical events organized by the association comprise of hands on workshops, invited talks, technical quizzes, and industrial visits etc. Various technical & extra-curricular activities are organized by the association in the annual program ALTIUS. Students also celebrate occasions of national importance such as Teachers day, Engineers day, National maritime day etc. The association organizes social outreach programs like the blood donation camp, sensitization programs for the benefit of the public and also involve in Swachhataabhiyaan.

The association instituted the following awards:
1. Best Outgoing Student Award
2. Best Project Award
3. Merit Award for academic toppers.
