Workshop on Intellectual property rights (IPRs) and IP management for startups

Institute's Innovation Council (IIC) in association with the Intellectual Property Rights(IPRs) Cell has organised a workshop on Intellectual property rights (IPRs) and IP management for startups on 14 th March 2022 at the institute's Seminar hall. Presiding over the inaugural function, the Principal, Dr. Shinivasa Mayya D., who is also the President of IIC, encouraged students to get awareness on the IPRs that will help them in the process of innovation. The convener of the IIC and head of the department of aeronautical and automobile engineering Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde, elaborated on the various IPRs and how would help startups in protecting their rights. He also briefed about IIC. Soon after the formal inauguration, Prof. Jayaram Thumbe, coordinator of the IPR activity of IIC, handled a session on Intellectual property rights (IPRs) and IP management for start ups. The session covered topics of various IPRs available, due diligence to be taken by the startups in relation to trademarks, logos and brand names. Students and faculty of the institute actively participated in the workshop. Dr. Praveen Shenoy of Aeronautical department coordinated the event. Prof. Sathish of EC department rendered vote of thanks.
