Founder's Day celebration

Founder's Day celebration of Srinivas University was organised on 14 February 2022 at Srinivas College Quadrangle, Pandeshwara Campus. Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju, Hon'ble Chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust was the Chief Guest of the program. Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, Hon'ble Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of A Shama Rao Foundation Mangaluru presided over the program. Dr A Srinivas Rao (Hon'ble Pro Chancellor, Srinivas University and Vice President of Srinivas Group of Institutions), Smt A Vijayalakshmi R Rao (Trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Prof Er Smt A Mitra S Rao (Trustee-Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University), Dr P S Aithal (Vice Chancellor), Dr Sushma Kesari and Kumari Meghana were present on the dais. Pro Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao Ji delivered the welcome address. Dr Srinivas Rao briefed the glory of Srinivas University since its inception and the various milestones achieved. Dr Anil Kumar paid homage to the founder Shri A Shama Rao on the occasion of 113th Birth Anniversary. Dr Anil Kumar has given a bird's eye view of Srinivas University. Dr Anil Kumar said that more than twelve thousand students are studying in 82 different programmes at three campuses and around four thousand faculty and staff members are serving the University. In his inaugural address, Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju quoted the sayings of renowned Telugu Poetess Sumati and said that Parents will feel proud and satisfied when their Children become Able and Nobel person in the society, achieve success in their life and the glory of success is carry forwarded by the next generation. Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju said: Our Dr Raghavendra Rao Ji, because of his hard work, because of his dedication, has made an institute with 7 people from scratch to a State Level Private University. There is a need to reduce the gap between Institute and Industry. Srinivas University is working in this direction which is commendable and this University will become a world class university. Vidya dadaati Vinayam, i.e. Education gives obedience, and this obedience makes you eligible, this eligibility (ability) facilitates you to earn money and success. Once you earn money by following Dharma, definitely you will contribute it to the society and this will give you peace of mind. Every one of us should recognize what is our accountability to the society, and how best we can contribute to the upliftment of the society. Students should inculcate 5 qualities, namely, Kakacheshta, Bakodhyana, Shwana Nidra, Mitahaari and Brahatyagi, in order to get success in their life. Teachers also have responsibilities, they should have interest in what they teach, should know how to teach, how to make it interesting, and should be a role model for the students. Qualities of good students and Expectations of good teachers, both coupled together will solve almost 90% problems in an educational institution. India is a country with 137 crore population with different cultures and languages, but still we are all one, we believe in Unity in Diversity. Our country is fundamentally dependent on democracy, our constitution. Education institutes play an important role in making children the responsible and good citizens of this nation. Contribute your earnings to the society in the form of charity, either in the form of education or healthcare. Try to become entrepreneurs. Think with innovation, and work to Make India competitive. Knowledge, Creativity and Courage will make you a world class citizen. India is a land of sandalwood, land of greetings, land of delivery, land of gratification, we live here, this is our Karma Bhoomi. Let’s work hard, not only for ourselves, let’s work for the society, let’s work for the people around, let’s work for our State and Nation with our innovation, dedication, knowledge, entrepreneurship and with our hard work. Let’s make the dream of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Bhai Modi Ji to reach a 6 trillion dollars economy by 2025. In his Presidential remarks, Hon’ble Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao Ji said that with the vision of Jagte Raho Bharat and Udte Raho Bharat, we all should work for the Nation. Dr Raghavendra Rao said, one of the greatest charities is Vidya Dana. We are providing knowledge and skills development training to all the students of Srinivas University to ensure better employment. In this direction, the Center of Excellence has been set up to provide skill development training programmes at the Engineering College campus in Mukka. Srinivas University is a mini India. There are students from all the states of India. We have started MBA programmes in a number of disciplines, in order to promote the people who are serving in private and public sector organisations. Dr Raghavendra Rao Ji said that the curriculum in Srinivas University will be updated in each academic year and in each semester, to compete with changing technology in the industry. On this occasion, Shri Ramananda (Hindi Language Teacher, Govt English Medium High School, Daddal Kadu, Bantwala) and Dr Saroja M (Lecturer in Biology, Bhandarkar's PU College, Kundapura) were felicitated with A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award 2021-22 for their contribution in the field of Education in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Smt C S Radhika (Female Ambulance Driver, Cauvery Ambulances, Kulai) and Shri Varun Alva (Asst Sub Inspector, Reserve Police, Mangaluru) were felicitated with A Shama Rao Memorial Award 2021-22 for their outstanding service in the field of Social Service and Bravery respectively. On this occasion, Dr Sandhya Shenoy of Srinivas University was felicitated for her contribution in the field of Research. Shri Charles K C, Student of Srinivas University was also felicitated for his international recognition in the field of arts and painting. In addition, twelve Ph.D degree awardees and eight gold medal achievers were felicitated on this occasion. Dr. Ramakrishna Shabaraya briefed the details of the award winners. Dr. Rajasekhar briefed the PhD and Gold Medal recipients. Dr. Sonia Ajay introduced the Chief Guest Dr Venkata Ramana Akkaraju to the gathering. Dr. Ajay Kumar (Registrar – Development) delivered Vote of Thanks. Dr. Ambika Mallya and Prof Rohan Fernandes compered the program. Shri Anirudh (student of Srinivas College of Aviation) performed the prayer with the Vedaghosha. Kumari Sakshi and her team performed the welcome dance, Bharatanatyam, as a token of welcome to the Chief Guest and Invitees. Dr Satya Sai Kumar Jillella (Pro Vice Chancellor), Dr Srinivas Mayya (Registrar - Evaluation), Dr Pranjal Ghate of NMPT, Deans & Principals of various colleges of Srinivas University, Faculty, Staff and Students were present.
