World-Intellectual-Property-Day”

As a part of the Celebration activities of the Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), World Intellectual Property Day was celebrated on 26-04-2023, Wednesday, at Srinivas Institute of Technology. Dr. Praveen BM, Director, Research and Innovation Council, Srinivas University, inaugurated the program. In his address to the gathering, Dr. Praveen emphasized the importance of the technical know-how of IPR in today’s world. He also congratulated the Principal, coordinator and the members of the IIC cell on organizing the program. Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Coordinator, IIC, highlighted the need for patenting and advised the students to patent their ideas, if not their projects. In his presidential remarks, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, inspired the students to get involved in innovative thinking and implementation of the ideas through the commercialization of the products. He reminded the students of their role in bringing out products beneficial to society and understanding their usability through IPR. Prof. Gourish Hegde, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics and Communication and Coordinator of the event, introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Prof. Soumya K, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Information Science and Engineering, welcomed the gathering. Prof. Rakesh Mallya, the NSS coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Vivek Kumar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Marine Engineering, conducted the function. The formal function was followed by a session on “Intellectual property rights” by Dr. Praveen BM. About 90 students and faculties across various departments of the college participated in the event. An online quiz was also organized
