Visit to CEPT University Campus

To understand and appreciate good campus design the current 6’th semester B. Arch students of Srinivas School of Architecture (SSA) visited Center for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) campus, Ahmedabad on 07-03-2024. There were 30 students accompanied by their faculty namely; Ar. Leslie J. Dias and Ar. Colin A. Pinto.The students visited the Faculty of Architecture block designed by Prof. B. V. Doshi, the undergraduate block and auditorium deigned by Ar. Christopher Benninger and the New Library designed by Ar. Rahul Mehrotra. The students observed the unique open planning principles, the consistent use of material finish and architectural details. The eye opener were the numerous spaces for social interaction and informal discussion in the form of courtyards, plazas and lawns.The students also visited the CEPT workshops. The campus tour ended with a visit to the famed Amdavad ni Gufa (also known as Hussain Doshi Gufa), a unique sub terranean art gallery.The class and faculty are grateful to the student representative for the guided tour.
