Technical talk “Momentum”

Department of Mechanical Engineering and Marine Engineering in association with Srinivas Advanced Manufacturing and Research Theatre (SAMARTH) of Mechanical Engineering Department, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru hosting a series of technical talks called as “Momentum”. In view of this, third episode of Expert talk Series was organized on 02/03/2024 at 10:00am on the topic “My Journey Till Fourth Engineer in Marine Sector”. Mr. Manoj Kanna S, Class IV Engineer at Anglo Eastern Ship Management was the resource person. Mr. Manoj addressed the audience about the reasons for his interest in the Merchant Navy. He began by recounting his early childhood experiences, followed by insights into his time at Srinivas Institute of Technology. During his college years, he secured placements in three multinational companies. However, driven by his passion for the Merchant Navy, he focused on preparing for the Graduate Marine Engineering interview, ultimately earning sponsorship from Anglo Eastern Ship Management. Also, he shared his first ship experience after his Graduate Marine Engineering training, offering advice to students at Srinivas Institute of Technology on the essential skills for success as a marine engineer. Additionally, he detailed his journey in clearing the class 4 examination. The Session was concluded with the doubt clearing session. Program was presided by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of the college. Dr. Shankar K S, HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Lokesh V, HOD, Marine Engineering Department, Mr. Sathya Prakash A, Faculty Coordinator of ASMA and CEO of SAMARTH, Mr. Sunil Prakash Rodrigues, Faculty Coordinator of AIMES, HOD’s of various departments and Faculty members were present during the session. The program was hosted by Ms. Thejaswini, second year Mechanical Engineering.
