Technical Training on Introduction to Scratch

As an association activity of Department of Information Science & Engineering, under AISE a hands-on session was conducted on “INTRODUCTION TO SCRATCH”. This event was supported by Mr. Sudarshan K, Head of the department ISE . The Hands-on session was conducted by Students of 3rd Year ISE Jayashree K. R Sinchana under the guidance of Mrs.Sowmya Assistant professor, ISE organised the event on 11/12/2023.The hands-on session was about the introduction to scratch and discussion on following concepts: Scratch programming, sprites function as programmable characters or objects, each equipped with its distinct set of instructions and behaviors. Basic commands, enabling sprites to perform essential actions like movement, costume changes, and responses to user input. The pivotal concept of loops is subsequently presented as a means to efficiently repeat sets of instructions, with the repeat block enabling users to specify the number of iterations and the forever block creating an infinite loop. Users learn to apply these loops to sprites orchestrating dynamic movements or sequential costume changes. In advanced stages, the introduction of variables allows for dynamic control over iteration numbers, enhancing programming flexibility.Students of 3rd & 5th SEM ISE 3rd SEM CS&D took active participation in the event.
