Technical Talk on Structuring Java Web Applications Using MVC Approach

The Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) organized a technical talk on the topic "Structuring Java Web Applications Using MVC Approach" on May 12, 2025, which was delivered by Ms. Smitha Shetty, a System Engineer, TCS, Bangalore. The formal function commenced at 10:30 AM with a warm and floral welcome extended to the chief guest, Ms. Smitha Shetty. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sashidhar Kini K, Head of the Department, Mr. Rajesh Naik, MASM Coordinator, and other faculty members. Ms. Shetty delivered an insightful session on the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture, a widely used design pattern in Java web application development. She explained the roles and responsibilities of each component — the Model for handling data and business logic, the View for the user interface, and the Controller for managing input and communication between the Model and View. Her session provided students with valuable knowledge on how to effectively structure Java web applications for better maintainability, scalability, and clarity in development. The talk also included practical examples, which helped the participants understand the real-world application of the MVC design pattern. The session was highly engaging and informative, and it significantly contributed to the students’ understanding of modern Java web application development practices.
