SRINIVAS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, MANGALURU DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING “Evaluating Digital Payment Systems: A Critical Thinking Approach” On November 27, 2024, the Association of Information Science and Engineering (AISE), in collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) conducted an awareness program on digital transactions. The program aimed to educate people about the benefits and safe practices of using digital payment methods, aligning with the growing importance of digital financial tools in todays world. The program focused on spreading awareness about various digital payment options and their advantages, including Unified Payments Interface (UPI), mobile wallets, and internet banking. Students emphasized the convenience, security, and reduction in cash usage offered by digital transactions. Through interactive demonstrations, they showcased how these methods work and provided practical examples to make the learning process engaging and effective. A significant part of the campaign was dedicated to explaining safe practices for digital payments. The students shared essential tips on avoiding online fraud and adopting secure habits while making digital transactions. These included recognizing phishing attempts, safeguarding passwords, and using secure networks for online payments. Participants responded enthusiastically, engaging actively in the sessions and showing keen interest in learning more about digital payment methods. This program served as an excellent platform for students to share their knowledge and encourage the wider adoption of digital payment systems, fostering both financial literacy and digital empowerment. This campaign was supported by our beloved Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D. The campaign was successfully completed with the help of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the Department, IS&E. This event is coordinated by Prof. Sowmya, Staff Advisor of AISE.
