Engineers Day Program conducted by AMARA Association

The Department of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering Association AMARA celebrated Engineers’ Day on 15/09/2021, to commemorate the 160th birth anniversary of a great visionary, stateman and engineer par excellence, Late Sir Visvesvaraya. Mr Ar. Leslie Dias, a noted architect and Associate Professor at, Srinivas School of Architecture, Mangaluru, was honoured by the Department head, Dr Ramakrishna Hegde on this occasion. Mr Ar. Leslie Dias speaking on this occasion stressed the need for an engineer to cross the defined limit of engineering and the right attitude to take up the new challenges to be successful. Dr Ramakrishna N. Hegde, Head of Aeronautical and Automobile Engineering, speaking on the occasion recalled the contributions and great work of Sir. M. Visvesvaraya in laying the foundation to Modern India. He added that “all will not become Sir M. Visvesvaraya, but we need to follow him as a role model inculcating self-discipline, commitment, ethics, and time sense in our life”. The department also welcomed the freshers on this occasion, marking it Freshers' Day. The function was conducted in hybrid mode with live streaming. Mr Avinash HS, Assistant Professor, Department of Aeronautical Engineering, introduced the chief guest. Mr Srinidhi Kukkila, Coordinator of AMARA, welcomed the gathering and Mr Jerome Anthony, Associate Professor, Department of Automobile Engineering delivered the vote of thanks. Prayer was done by the 1st-year student, Ms Sharanya. Master of the ceremony was done by Mr Pratham Sharma and Mr Raghavendra BM, 1st-year students. The event was conducted successfully with the involvement of the Head of the Department, AMARA coordinator and association members.
