Career Opportunities in Marine Engineering, Onshore, and Offshore

The Department of Marine Engineering, SIT, organized a webinar on Career Opportunities in Marine Engineering, Onshore, and Offshore on 7th July 2021 through video conferencing. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology presided over the program. The resource person was Mr. Karthikeyan, an alumnus of SIT, Department of marine engineering and currently he is a Jr. Engineer with Great Eastern Shipping Limited. He talked about the career opportunities in the shipping industry and his experiences with companies like Microsoft and Accenture before he joined shipping. He asked the future marine engineers not to restrict themselves to offshore but also look at sectors such as Logistics and Naval Architecture. He spoke about his wonderful experiences in SIT and his Hostel days. Dr. Shankar KS, HOD, Marine Engineering, Prof. Chandra Jogi, Incharge HOD, Prof. Nithin Joshuva, faculty advisor were present on the occasion. Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar hosted the video conferencing.
