Report on National Science Day Celebration

The Basic Science departments of Srinivas Institute of Technology organized National Science Day-2024 on 28th February 2024. The event aimed to commemorate the significance of science and its contributions to society. Dr. Shankar K.S., in his Presidential address, emphasized the crucial role of basic science in technological advancements. He highlighted the vast scope for data scientists and engineers in leveraging scientific principles for innovation. Dr.Suryanarayana K, Professor & Head, Department of Physics, was the resource person. He elucidated the importance of National Science Day and expounded upon its themes. Furthermore, he demonstrated the Raman Effect through an engaging video presentation, enriching the audience's understanding of fundamental scientific phenomena. Prof. Shilpakala K, Assistant Professor in Mathematics and coordinator of the program, introduced the esteemed resource person, setting the stage for the enlightening sessions ahead. The program commenced with a solemn invocation by Ms. Disha Rao of 3rd year CSE, invoking blessings for the success of the event and fostering an atmosphere of reverence. Prof. Ramya N.C, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, expressing gratitude to all participants for their presence and support. Prof. Pavithra K, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all contributors, speakers, and attendees for their valuable contributions, ensuring the smooth execution and success of the event. Ms. Jayashree K.R, 3rd year Information Science student, skilfully anchored the program, guiding the audience through its various segments with professionalism and enthusiasm.
