Report on Entrepreneurship Day

The SIT EDP Cell, in association with the IIC Cell, hosted the 'National Entrepreneurship Day Celebration' on 9-11-2023. Dr. Praahas Amin, HOD of Computer Science and Design at Canara Engineering College, Benjanapadavu, and Managing Director of Flashflow Technologies OPC Pvt. Ltd., Mangalore, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr. Shankar, HOD of the Mechanical Department, presided over the function and highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in current circumstances.The chief guest delivered a speech on 'Entrepreneurship Career and Opportunities,' encompassing the core essence of entrepreneurship, diverse methods for generating business ideas, different business models, and techniques for evaluating a business idea. He also shared personal experiences in initiating a business.Dr. Amin emphasized the fundamental components of a business idea and provided insights into the quadrants of innovation, covering procurement, Product/Service, Delivery, and Promotion. Additionally, he discussed various types of innovation, including price, convenience, speed, quality, and self-expression.Active participation was observed from first-year students across different branches, engaging in insightful discussions. Prof. Shailesh Shetty, HOD of the CS BS department, organized this program.
