Report-on-“Mechanic’s-magic-2023”

Department of Mechanical Engineering and Marine engineering, jointly organized “Mechanic’s Magic” a Two days hands on workshop on Engine overhaul and inspection under the Banner of ASMA and AIMES, for the final year students of Mechanical and Marine Engineering on 12th and 13th of April 2023.Inauguration of workshop was held on 12th April. Prof. Sathish K G, Faculty coordinator of AIMES gave the overview and motivation for conducting the workshop. Dr. Shankar K S, HoD of Mechanical Engineering congratulated the students for organizing the workshop in his address. He urged the students to make use of such workshops which gives us confidence while working on the tools and helps in handling the vehicles. President of the function and Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, in his presidential address he elaborated the necessity of such workshops with some practical examples. In his speech he told-learning the concepts in theory and practical would be different, so he told the students to utilize the workshop, and make use of its outcome in the day to day life. Principal wished the students and congratulated the organizers. Prof. Varun N and Prof. Girish A R, Assistant Professors, Department of Automobile Engineering and Resource Persons for 2 days workshop were present during the programm.Mr. Siddharth U, President of ASMA welcomed the gathering and Mr. Nishanth, vice president of AIMES proposed the vot of thanks. Mr. Pruthviraj was the master of ceremony of the program. Formal function was followed by a presentation on “Automobile engine components and fault identification” by Prof. Varun N and Prof. Girish A R, Assistant Professors, Department of Automobile Engineering.On the next day students had hands on experience on various trouble shooting and fault findings of Automobile engines.
