Plastic free Campus-Campus cleaning program

The Marine Students' Association (AIMES) at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, organised a Campus Cleaning Programme on November 20th 2023, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) within the college premises. The primary objective of this initiative was to impart awareness among the student community regarding the importance of maintaining a pristine and environmentally sustainable campus. Dr. Lokesh V, Head of the Department of Marine Engineering, along with Prof. Sunil Prakash R, AIMES Faculty Advisor, played pivotal roles in overseeing the event. During the program, Dr. Lokesh V underscored the significance of cleanliness and eagerly encouraged students to actively engage in such socially impactful endeavours. The teamwork led to gathering and correctly throwing away plastic waste in an assigned dump yard. The whole activity was really encouraging for the students involved, making them feel more responsible for the environment and community.
