On February 20, 2024, a significant religious event took place, by the holy hand of the esteemed 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐀 𝐀. 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, ji Hon'ble Chancellor of Srinivasa University and President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, accompanied by 𝐀. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢 𝐑. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council, Srinivasa University, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor of Srinivasa University, Vice-President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐦𝐭. 𝐀. 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐒. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council of Srinivas University. and their esteemed family members. starting at 8:00 in the morning with the commencement of the Vishnu SahasranamaParayana, followed by an Ankura Puja at 5:00 in the evening. This event held great significance for the devotees participating, marking a day of spiritual reverence and devotion.The Vishnu SahasranamaParayana, which began at 8:00 in the morning, is a sacred recitation of the thousand names of Lord Vishnu, an important deity in Hinduism. This recitation is considered highly auspicious and is often performed in groups, with devotees chanting each name with devotion and reverence. The Vishnu Sahasranama is a revered hymn that extols the virtues and attributes of Lord Vishnu, believed to bring blessings, protection, and spiritual elevation to those who recite it sincerely. The atmosphere during the Parayana would have been one of serenity and devotion, with participants immersing themselves in the chanting, seeking spiritual upliftment and divine grace. Following the morning recitation, at 5:00 in the evening, the Ankura Puja took place. The Ankura Puja, also known as the Sprout Pooja, is a ritual that symbolizes the beginning of new life and growth. In this puja, a sprouted seed or grains are worshipped as a representation of life and fertility. The puja typically involves the chanting of mantras, offering of prayers, and the symbolic watering of the sprout, invoking blessings for abundance, prosperity, and auspicious beginnings.
