National Youth Day

MANGALORE, India – January 12, 2024 – Srinivas Institute of Technology ,marked the occasion of National Youth Day with an inspiring and educational celebration held on January 12, 2024, in the institution's Seminar Hall. The event, jointly organized by the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), brought together esteemed guests, faculty members, and enthusiastic students to commemorate the birthday of the legendary Swami Vivekananda, a true icon and harbinger of hope and happiness for the youth of India. The occasion was graced by a distinguished Chief Guest Dr. Udaya Kumar M.A. Irvathur, former Principal of University College, Mangalore, who delivered a thought-provoking address on the topic, Swami Vivekananda - Harbinger of Hope and Happiness for Young India,which further deepened the understanding of Swami Vivekananda's profound influence on the youth. Principal Dr. Shrinivasa MayyaD , the president of the function took the stage to share valuable insights on how engineers and students can draw inspiration from Swami Vivekananda's principles and apply them to their academic and personal journeys. His speech resonated with the attendees, highlighting the enduring relevance of Swami Vivekananda's ideals in today's world. The eventwas coordinated by Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar who delivered the welcome address. The event's proceedings were kicked off with an invigorating invocation by Devayani from the Marine Engineering department, followed by a warm welcome speech by Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar. The vote of thanks was graciously delivered by Prof. Rakesh Mallya P, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event. Adding to the vibrancy of the celebration were the talented MCs, Ninaada B.K. and Sanjana S.K., both from the Marine Engineering department. Their lively commentary and engaging interaction with the audience ensured that the event was both informative and entertaining. The event not only paid homage to the great Swami Vivekananda but also served as a platform for young minds to connect with his visionary ideas and principles.
