Mental Health Care Training for Aspiring Entrepreneurs
In collaboration with the Counselling and Career Guidance Cell, the Srinivas Institute of Technology's Institution's Innovation Council organized an insightful talk on "Mental Health Care Training for Aspiring Entrepreneurs." Tailored for budding Engineering, MBA, and MCA students, this session aimed to provide valuable insights into excelling academically while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit. Dr. Shashidhar Kini K, Coordinator of the Counselling and Career Guidance Cell at SIT, extended a warm welcome to the participants. The engaging session was led by Mr Joyal, a Counsellor and Welfare Officer from Dr Thunga’s Manswini Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Care Training and Research Centre in Arukula, Mangalore, along with his team. The program commenced with a skit and a dance performance by the M.S.W. students from the Department of Social Works at Mangalore University. Mr. Joyal then delved into various aspects of mental health care, emphasizing the characteristics essential for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs. He addressed stigmas associated with mental health care and provided practical examples of how students can focus on their studies while nurturing their academic, personal, and social skills. Expressing gratitude, Prof. Jayarama Thumbe thanked Mr Joyal and his team for their insightful sessions on Mental Health Care. Special thanks were extended to Principal Dr Srinivasa Mayya D, Dr. Ananth Kumar Kulkarni, Student Welfare Officer, and Dr. Ramakrishna Hegde, Convener, IIC. Prof. Jayarama Thumbe concluded by appreciating the students for their 100% participation in this enriching program, with approximately 300 students actively engaging in the session.
