Kickstart Your Startup ISE

The Department of ISE, in association with the EDP Cell and IIC, organized a session titled Kickstart Your Startup on 5th July 2024 for 3rd-year students at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore. The talk was given by Mr. Sarvesh and Mr. Uttam, 6th-semester ISE students.During the discussion, Sarvesh and Uttam emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in today's dynamic world. They shared their journey of exploring the startup ecosystem, providing practical insights and real-life examples that resonated with the students. Critical steps involved in starting a startup, including ideation, market research, and validation of business concepts, were highlighted. The speakers provided a detailed overview of how to gather information from stakeholders, understand market needs, and create a viable business model. They also discussed various funding schemes available for start-ups in India and Karnataka, elaborating on the eligibility criteria and application processes for these schemes. This information was particularly valuable for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs, as it equipped them with knowledge about potential financial support.The session also covered how students could leverage their academic projects to secure placements and attract potential investors. The importance of showcasing projects effectively and building a strong personal brand was stressed. A comprehensive overview of the start-up ecosystem was provided, breaking down different business functions and their inter dependencies. The participation and enthusiasm of the students were commendable, and the insights provided were greatly appreciated.
