International Drug Abuse Awareness Day By SIT

On June 26, 2024, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangalore, in collaboration with the NSS Unit, SIT and Vamanjoor Police Station, observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Dr.Shrinivasa Mayya D. Principal,our driving force encouraged to do this event which aimed to educate and empower students and faculty members about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of combating illicit trafficking in substances. Insightful seminar was conducted by resource persons Mrs.Kamala police, Sub-inspector, Mrs. Bharathi, women police head constable, Mr.Pradeep police constable , from the Vamanjoor Police Station. This session covered various aspects of drug abuse, including its impact on health, society,and legal repercussions and a pledge was taken to combat this menace& ensure a safer,healthier future for all. Students and faculty gained a comprehensive understanding of the issue through interactive discussions. Dr.Padmanayana, HOD , CS&D presented token of gratitude to Resource Persons. Prof. Rakesh Mallya, NSS officer welcomed and thanked the gathering.
