Intellectual Property Rights
Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) in association with the Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Cell has organized an Awareness program on Intellectual property rights (IPRs) under Kalam Program for Intellectual Property Literacy and Awareness (KAPILA) in association with AICTE and National Intellectual Awareness Property Mission (NIPAM) on 27th April 2022 at the institute's Seminar hall. Presiding over the inaugural session, the Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D., who is also the President of IIC, encouraged students to get awareness on the IPRs that will help them in the process of innovation. The convener of the IIC Dr. Ramakrishna N Hegde, elaborated on the various IPRs and how they would help startups in protecting their rights. He also briefed about IIC. Soon after the formal inauguration, Resource Person Mr. Ramashish Paul, Examiner of Patents and Design Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Chennai, handled a session on Awareness program on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The session covered topics: basic knowledge of Intellectual property rights (IPR), importance of IP, Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights and also discussed some best practices followed and case studies. Students and faculty of the institute actively participated in the program. Dr. Shankar K S Head of Mechanical department coordinated the event. The Master of Ceremony was done by Prof. Jayaram Thumbe of Mechanical department.
