Industrial Visit Program

Industrial Visit Students of the 3rd Semester Marine Engineering of Srinivas Institute of Technology, in collaboration with the Industry-Institute Interaction Cell, visited UDUPI COCHIN SHIPYARD LIMITED on the 25th of November 2024. The visit was led by Professors Sunil Prakash Rodrigues of the department. The visit to Udupi Cochin Shipyard, Malpe, was an insightful and educational experience that offered a comprehensive understanding of contemporary shipbuilding practices. During the visit, several critical features of ship construction were observed, including draft markings, mooring notches, propeller anode coverings, and cabin insulation. These components exemplify the meticulous attention to detail and innovative approaches essential in the construction of vessels such as the Wilson ECC. This hands-on exposure provided an invaluable opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. The visit underscored the significance of engineering precision, environmental responsibility, and safety in modern shipbuilding. It also emphasized the complex interplay of design, technology, and craftsmanship required to meet the rigorous demands of the maritime industry
