Inaugural function of Marine Student Association AIMES

The Inaugural function of Marine Student Association AIMES-2023-24 was held on 8th December 2023 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru. Mr. Prasenjit T S, alumnus and PMS Data Administrator at Apollo Ship Management Pte.Ltd was the chief guest for the function. The function was presided by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology.Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D highlighted the seamless integration of Information Technology into the maritime field, underscoring the abundant opportunities available for marine engineers. He expressed delight in sharing the stage with a distinguished alumnus and commended the student association's pre-inaugural activities, urging students to actively participate. The esteemed chief guest emphasized the applicability of marine engineering knowledge in securing IT positions within the marine sector and assured ongoing support for students. He expressed gratitude to the organizers for extending the invitation.Dr. Lokesh V, Head of Marine Engineering, encouraged students to use college resources efficiently for smooth event planning. He thanked the distinguished guests for taking the time to attend despite busy schedules. Dr. Lokesh V stressed the importance of connecting with industry professionals, emphasizing that events like these provide valuable opportunities for students to engage with experts in their fields.Dr. Shankar KS, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Dheeraj Hebri, Head of the Training & Placement Department, along with faculty members from various departments, witnessed the function. The program was coordinated by Prof. Sunil Prakash R, AIMES Faculty Advisor. Mr. Karthik H K, AIMES President welcomed the gathering. Mr. Haroon M Nadaf, AIMES Secretary delivered vote of thanks. Mr. Prithuesh P B, 5th Semester Marine Engineering, introduced the chief guest. Ms. Nithya M R and Mr. Jude A James, 7th Semester Marine Engineering, were the masters of ceremony.
