HANDS-ON-SESSION-“GITHUB-WITH-VISUAL-STUDIO-CODE-2023”

As an association activity of Department of Information Science & Engineering, under AISE Organized a hands-on session “GITHUB WITH VISUAL STUDIO CODE” was conducted on 21/07/2023. The hands-on session was about the introduction to GitHub and how it can be used easily with visual studio code without any commands. GitHub is a platform service for software development and version control using Git, allowing developers to store and manage their codes. It is commonly used to host open-source software development projects. Using GitHub with Visual Studio Code lets one to share the source code and collaborate with others within the editor. GitHub is used for storing, tracking and collaborating on software projects. It also serves as a social networking site where developers can openly network, collaborate and pitch their work. This event was supported by Mr. Sudarshan K, Head of the department, IS&E . The Hands-on session was conducted by Students of 2nd Year ISE Sinchana, Sanjana B M under the guidance of Mrs.Sowmya Assistant professor, Department of IS&E.Brief Introduction to Git hub, Visual studio code, creating and deleting repository and committing the changes was explained and demonstrated by Sanjana B M and Cloning a repository, making a pull request, creating branches and merging the code and also how to collaborating with other editors was explained and demonstrated by Sinchana.All 32 students of 4th SEM ISE took active participation in the event.
