Grand Procession of Lord Srinivas Idol 21st February 2024

The auspicious day of February 21st, 2024, marked a vibrant and spiritually enriching event filled with various rituals, prayers, bhajans, and cultural performances in Mangaluru. Vedic ceremonial event took place, by the holy hand of the esteemed 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐀 𝐀. 𝐑𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Hon'ble Chancellor of Srinivasa University and President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, accompanied by 𝐀. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐢 𝐑. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council, Srinivasa University, and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Hon'ble Pro-Chancellor of Srinivasa University, Vice-President of A. Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐒𝐦𝐭. 𝐀. 𝐌𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐒. 𝐑𝐚𝐨, Trustee of the Governing Council of Srinivas University. and their esteemed family members. The day commenced with the Navagraha Shanti and ChakraabbaMandalapuja at 8:00 AM, followed by the Lakshmi Narayana Homa, Vaayu Stuti Pujan, and Shanti Prayashchit Homa at 9:00 AM. These rituals were conducted to invoke blessings and peace from the divine forces. As the day progressed, at 5:00 PM, the Adhivasa Homa, Shayanadivasa rituals, Kalash Mandal construction, and Kalash Pujan were performed. Additionally, the Aghora Homa and Lakshmi Durga Puja took place, accompanied by Ashtavadhana and Ashlesha Bali ceremonies, symbolizing devotion and purification.The morning started with devotional singing sessions, or Bhajans, by various groups such as Veeranjaneya Mahila Bhajana Mandali, Shree Hare Krishna Bhajana Mandali, and Shreenidhi Mahila Bhajana Mandali. These sessions were aimed at invoking spirituality and divine grace among the attendees.Following the bhajans, a recitation of Vishnu Sahasra Namavali was conducted, allowing devotees to immerse themselves in the divine names of Lord Vishnu. This was followed by more bhajan sessions by groups like Shreekrishna Mandira and Koota Maha Jagatthu BantwalaAngasamsthe, fostering a sense of unity and devotion among participants.In the afternoon, preparations for a grand procession began, accompanied by yet more bhajan sessions by Shree Jeevanadhara Dyana Yoga Bajana Mandali. The procession, a highlight of the day, showcased the spiritual fervor and cultural richness of the community.As evening approached, the cultural festivities continued with a mesmerizing Saree Dance by the Mahila Sabha and performances by students from SUIAS and SIT. The day culminated with a captivating Yakshagana performance, Krishnarjuna Kalaga, by SIT students, captivating the audience with its traditional storytelling and vibrant costumes.Simultaneously, at Shri Naganagini Nagabhrahma Kshethra Arkula Merlapadavu, Bhajane sessions were held by S. P. Sampath Balaga Bhajana Mandali and Shree Vishnumarthy Bajana Mandali, further enriching the spiritual atmosphere of the day.The event not only provided a platform for religious rituals but also fostered cultural exchange and artistic expression, bringing together people from different backgrounds to celebrate unity, devotion, and tradition. Through prayers, bhajans, and performances, the day served as a reminder of the enduring values of faith, harmony, and community spirit.
