Faculty Development Programme on Emerging Topics in Basic Science

The Basic science departments of Srinivas Institute of Technology organised 5 day Faculty development programme on selected emerged topics in the VTU curriculum of first year BE introduced from the academic year 2022-23 with title, ‘FDP on Emerging Topics in Basic Science’ from 30th January 2023 to 3rd Feb 2023. Total participants of this FDP were 56 including six resource persons, which has been inaugurated by Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D. On 30th January 2023, Next day on 31st January 2023, Dr. Mahesh Lohith, Associate professor and Head, department of Physics AMIT, Mysuru given the plenary talk on Physics for Animation and Step interactive Physical Simulator and study of motion using Spread sheets. Dr Suryanarayana K. Professor and head, Department of Physics, SIT, delivered the talk on Introduction to Quantum Computers. On 3rd day, sessions on Mathematics has been arranged, The participants gained the practical experience of using Geogebra and Python for Mathematics being described by Dr. Ramananda and professor and head, Department of Mathematics St,Joseph College of Engineering, Dr. Harsha J, assistant professor St.Joseph College of Engineering Mangaluru by hands on training was very meticulous. On the fourth day, sessions on Chemistry topis being arranged, all the participants actively involved in plenary talk on LCD, OLED and QLED being explained by Dr. B K Sarojini. Professor and head Industrial Chemistry Mangalore University. During afternoon session Dr. Vishwnath T, Assiatant professor, Department of Material Science. Mangalore University given a plenary talk on Organic, polymeric memory devices. The entire 5 day programme being concluded by means of valedictory function by address by principal Dr.Shrinivasa Mayya D. After the feedback presentation from few participants and by observing participants interaction during the sessions, it was found that the key purpose of FDP to impart fullest knowledge among the concerned faculties being fulfilled.
