FATEHPUR SIKRI

On August 8th, 2024, 20 students accompanied by 1 faculty of Srinivas School of Architecture, Mangalore went on a day long excursion to Agra was undertaken to study Mughal architecture. The group visited Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s abandoned capital. The site, renowned for its blend of Hindu, Islamic and Jain influences, showcased the pinnacle of the architecture during Akbar’s reign. The intricate stone carvings, jail works, Jodhabhai Palace, Tomb of Salim Chishti and the majestic Buland Darwaza were particularly impressive.
