Engineer’s Day Celebration and Inauguration of Student Association

The inauguration function of Student Council Association for 2019-20 and Engineers’Day celebration was held on 24th September 2019 in Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Melapadavu, Mangaluru. Mr. Kamaraj M, Vice President,i-Wave System Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru was Chief Guest of the function and Dr. HR Shivakumar, VTU Special Officer, Mangaluru Region was the Guest of Honour.

Mr. Kamaraj M in his inaugural address to the students gave a presentation on Engineering Challenges & Opportunities. He spoke a lot about the skills required by an engineer and the leadership qualities in the corporate world. He also enlightened importance of Engineers’Day celebration.

Dr. HR Shivakumar gave the values to be followed by a responsible engineer. He spoke about the Bharata Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya, his life as an engineer and also as a responsible citizen of India. He enlightened the students with the principles followed by the Sir M Visvesvaraya, his achievements, honours and awards.

Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of the college was the President of the function, congratulated the Students Association members for forming the association and said more and more activities should be conducted under this association for the development of the students, thereby enhance their technical and managerial skills.

The program was welcomed by Mr. Venkatesh Rajput, President, Student Council. Ms. Delrin Dmello, Envision organising Secretary and Ms. Shravya, Cultural Secretary introduced the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively. Dr. Anant Kulkarni, Student Welfare Officer, introduced Office bearers for Student Council association for academic year 2019-20. Secretary of the student council association Mr. Arjun Shetty briefed plan of action for the academic year 2019-20 and Mr. Ranjan, Vice President, Student Council Association delivered the vote of thanks. The formal function was followed by cultural program by students.
