The program focused on the know how’s of the Electric vehicles catering not just the basics of the technology, but also the recent trends and research carried out in the field. We had a total of 42 participants ranging from colleges from across the country. The 5day program commenced on the 9 th of January 2023. The chief guest of the inaugural function, Dr. K V Gangadharan, Professor, Dept. Of Mechanical Engineering and faculty coordinator, Centre for system design at NITK, Surathkal gave the keynote address. He highlighted the importance of Electric Vehicles at large and also inspired the audience by showcasing the various range of electric vehicles which were developed at the Centre under his tutelage. Various aspects of electric vehicle technology were discussed and expert lectures were presented by experts from NITK and industries over the different sessions. Topics ranging from Numerical electromagnetic analysis, experimental data acquisition of sensors and actuators,Programming for data acquisition, Battery Management systems and battery modeling, Torsional vibration isolation in electric motors, Battery materials, Power Electronics, Motor specifications and others were discussed. On the final day, a field visit was organized to the Centre for system design at NITK Surathkal. Electric vehicles of various capacities were showcased thought the sessions and the detail into the modeling and designing of the same was explained by the e-mobility team. Other aspects of experimental techniques for data acquisition were also demonstrated at the centre. At the outset, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all the expert lecturers who have given us the depth of knowledge in these 5days. We also wish to thank all the participants for their participation. Thanks are also due to our management, our Principal who has always stood behind us, The HODs of Mechanical, Marine, Aeronautical and Automobile for their constant support.
