Dept of Architecture visited St. Lawrence Church, Bondel, Mangalore

Students of Vth semester of Architecture Dept visited St. Lawrence Church, Bondel along with Ar.Leslie Dias and Er. Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B on 27th November, 2023. This site visit was arranged by Ar. Leslie Dias,Associate Professor, Department of Architecture for the subject Building Structures-IV. Ar. Colin Pinto, Visiting Faculty at Srinivas School of Architecture, Valachil and Principal Architect at Concept Evolve gave a detailed description about the history of the building, construction methodology of erection of truss and other construction practise details. Er. Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B, Asst Professor, Dept of Architecture explained the structural aspect in the Design Philosophies of the truss. A total of 31 students were part of this visit and got benefitted by the same. This visit was organised by the Architecture Department in view of academic requirements and also to give a practical understanding to students about Design of Portal Frames.
