Career-at-sea-2023

The student Association of Marine Engineering AIMES organized a technical talk on “Career at sea” on 16th March 2023. Mr. Chethan, an alumnus of SIT, currently working as a Marine Engineer with Wilhelmsen ship management Limited was invited as the resource person. Mr. Chethan discussed various career opportunities within the shipping industry and shared his personal experiences as a junior engineer working onboard ships. He advised aspiring marine engineers to consider exploring sectors beyond offshore, such as Logistics and Naval Architecture. Additionally, he shared his daily routines and the checklists he follows during working hours on board ship. During the event, Mr. Chethan fondly remembered his time at SIT and shared some of his wonderful experiences from his college days. Dr. Shankar K S, HOD, Marine Engineering, Prof. Sathisha KG, faculty advisor and all the staff members of Marine Engineering department were present on the occasion. Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar hosted the program.
