In this generation printed text appears everywhere. Because of this, blind people always take help of others to buy some product. Thus, blind people need some assistance to read printed labels and product packages. To enhance independent living of blind, final year computer science students of Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Valachil, have developed a project called “Blind’s Eye” using Python programming language.

This project uses a camera to capture the product image and gives the audio output of the product information. Audio contains information like name of the product, weight and price. This system helps as a shopping aid to the visually impaired people.

The Principal, Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D and Head of CSE Department, Dr. Shivakumar G.S have appreciated their work.
