Anti-Ragging Awareness Week 2025

As part of the Anti-Ragging Awareness Week the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a program on Antiragging week 2025 under the guidance of the Anti Ragging Cell headed by Dr Anant Kumar Kulakarni HoD Department of Mathematics Dr Shankar K S HOD Department of Mechanical Engineering highlighted the psychological academic and professional consequences of ragging stressing the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment within the campus The main objectives of the Anti Ragging Awareness Week were to create awareness among students about the legal and disciplinary consequences of ragging to promote a safe and supportive environment for all students especially newcomers and to encourage healthy peer interactions that foster positive bonding activities The program also aimed to reinforce the institutions strict zero tolerance policy towards ragging thereby ensuring a respectful and inclusive campus culture The session was addressed by Antiragging cell member Mr Sudheendra H N Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering who spoke on the topic of Ragging and Its Impact on Career All Students Mechanical Association ASMA coordinator Mr Sandesh K S Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering jointly hosted this event in association with Anti Ragging Cell SIT Students were made to fill the undertaking registration forms in UGC Antiragging web portal and also made aware that ragging is not only a punishable offense under law but also detrimental to the reputation and future of those who indulge in such activities The program was well organized and served as a reminder to students of their responsibility in upholding discipline respect and harmony in the institution
