AIMES Marine Association Inauguration

Inaugural function of Marine Student Association AIMES-2024-25 The Marine Student Association (AIMES) inaugurated its activities for the 2024-25 academic year on November 14, 2024, at the Srinivas Institute of Technology in Valachil, Mangaluru. Captain Manoj Joshi, Deputy Conservator and Port Facility Security Officer at New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), served as the chief guest, with Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, presiding over the function. During his address, Captain Joshi shared valuable life lessons from his maritime career, underscoring the significance of setting purposeful life goals. He reminded students that true happiness is achieved through purpose and passion, rather than material wealth, encouraging them to focus on personal fulfillment as a key life goal. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D commended the new office bearers and encouraged all students to take active roles in organizing events this academic year. He also stressed the importance of engaging in technical activities, which are essential for students to build practical skills and deepen their knowledge. Dr. Lokesh V, Head of the Marine Engineering Department, advised students to utilize institutional resources effectively for smooth execution of planned events. He extended appreciation to the esteemed guests for their attendance and support. Additionally, Dr. Lokesh urged students to pursue skill development and communication training to better align with the current demands of the industry. Dr. Shankar KS, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Dheeraj Hebri, Head of the Training & Placement Department, along with faculty members from various departments, witnessed the function. The program was coordinated by AIMES Faculty Advisor, Prof. Sunil Prakash R. Mr. Sai Madhav S, AIMES President welcomed the gathering. Ms. Harshitha T, AIMES Secretary delivered vote of thanks. Mr. Shravan NJ, 5th Semester Marine Engineering, introduced the chief guest. Ms. Sanjana Kotoan and Mr. Prithuesh P B, of Marine Engineering, were the masters of ceremony.
