68th Kannada Rajyothsava Celebration

The 68th Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated with great pomp and splendor at S.I.T Campus, Valachil, Mangaluru on Wednesday 1st November 2023, with a tag line of “Tantrika Neleyalli Kannadada Ale”. Translated this means “Creating Waves with kannada in the domain of engineering and technology”.Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of the college inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp and showering rose petals on Kannadambe –goddess Bhuvaneshwari-The reigning deity of Karnataka State. The state flag, the Pride of Kannadigas, a feisty one in golden yellow and vermilion was hoisted on the occasion which was followed by a rendition of state and national anthem. Today’s program was celebrated as a “Kannada Sambhrama 50” as the occasion of successful completion of the renaming Mysuru state as Karnataka State. “Hesarayithu Karnataka – Usiragali Kannada” with this tag line 5 different kannada songs were rendered as per the instruction of state Govt. College cultural committee Lalitaranga its SIT Raga- a music club supported for this program.The programme was coordinated by Mr. Sudheendra H.N., assistant professor, department of Mechanical Engineering and coordinator of “AISIRI” Kannada Sangha with the help of “AISIRI” Kannada Sangha members. More than 600 students and staffs (Teaching and Non-Teaching) witnessed the Rajyothsava Celebrations.On this occasion college speaker forum member Mr. Vishal anchored the program.
