On October 7th and 8th, 2024, the NAAC Peer Team visited Srinivas Institute of Technology for a comprehensive institutional assessment. The team arrived at 8:45 AM on the first day and was greeted by the faculty and staff, who were present by 8:30 AM to ensure a warm reception. The day commenced with a presentation by the Principal at 9:00 AM, where key aspects of the institution, including academic achievements, infrastructure, and future initiatives, were highlighted. Following the presentation, from 9:45 AM, the Peer Team undertook an extensive campus tour, inspecting various academic departments such as AI & ML, Computer Science, and others. They also visited the central facilities, including the library, laboratories, and administrative offices, assessing the quality of infrastructure, research activities, and teaching methods. The morning sessions provided a deep dive into the institution's academic and operational strengths. At 1:00 PM, the team had lunch, and the inspection resumed with a series of interactions. At 2:00 PM, they met with students in the Seminar Hall, discussing their academic journey, support systems, and extracurricular activities. This was followed by a session with alumni and parents at 2:45 PM in Room 007, where the NAAC team gathered valuable insights into the institution’s role in shaping students' careers and its lasting impact on graduates. At 3:15 PM, the teaching staff engaged with the Peer Team in the Seminar Hall, focusing on academic processes, faculty development, and ongoing research. This was followed by an interaction with the non-teaching staff at 3:45 PM in Room 007, ensuring a holistic understanding of how the institution functions at all levels. After a productive day, the team enjoyed high tea at 4:15 PM, and the visit culminated with a cultural program at 5:00 PM. The program showcased the rich cultural heritage of the region, featuring performances like the Yaksha Gana play portraying the story of how Devi killed Chanda Munda, along with traditional Tulu dances and an act depicting how Parashurama created Tulunadu, adding a cultural dimension to the visit. On October 8th, the second day of the visit, the Peer Team focused on a meticulous review of criteria-wise documents. These documents were examined to assess the institution's academic, administrative, and infrastructural processes in accordance with NAAC standards. The visit concluded with an exit meeting, where the Peer Team provided their feedback and suggestions to the management and faculty, bringing the two-day evaluation process to a close.
