Overview Of IIC:
The Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) at Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Mangaluru, was
established in June 2021 to promote innovation, research, and entrepreneurship. It aims to create an
environment conducive to developing innovative, thought-provoking ideas, fostering startups, and
supporting intellectual property rights (IPR). With 36 faculty and 6 student members, the council has
organized numerous workshops, seminars, and events that encourage innovation and entrepreneurship
among students and faculty. The IIC engages with industry experts and alumni to mentor startups and
offers infrastructure support for pre-incubation and incubation. The council plays a pivotal role in
nurturing a culture of innovation within the institute
Objectives:
- 1. Foster Innovation: Create a supportive environment that encourages the development of innovative,
thought-provoking ideas among students and faculty.
- 2. Promote Entrepreneurship: Provide opportunities for students and faculty to explore entrepreneurship
by nurturing startups and offering necessary mentorship and resources.
- 3. Facilitate Intellectual Property Creation: Support the commercialization of innovative ideas by guiding
the process of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and facilitating the filing of patents.
- 4. Collaborate with Industry: Build strong connections with industry experts, alumni, and interdisciplinary
departments to offer mentorship and support for innovations and entrepreneurial ventures
