Incubation and Startup Cell
The Incubation and Startup Cell at SIT Mangaluru is started to nurture and promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among students and faculty. It provides a structured ecosystem for developing new business ideas and converting them into viable startups. The cell offers mentoring, resources, industry connections, and infrastructure to support entrepreneurs in their journey from ideation to market entry.
Objectives:
- • Promote Entrepreneurship: Foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students and faculty.
- • Support Startups: Provide guidance and resources to help students and faculty launch and grow startups.
- • Industry Collaboration: Facilitate partnerships between academia and industry to encourage innovation.
- • Skill Development: Organize workshops, boot camps, and training programs to enhance entrepreneurial skills.
- • Networking Opportunities: Connect startups with investors, mentors, and successful entrepreneurs.
Activities:
- • Workshops & Seminars: Organize entrepreneurship development programs (EDPs), seminars, and innovation workshops.
- • Hackathons & Competitions: Host internal and external hackathons, like the SIT Internal Hackathon, to encourage innovative solutions to real-world problems.
- • Mentorship Programs: Provide guidance from industry experts, successful entrepreneurs, and faculty mentors.
- • Startup Showcases: Facilitate platforms where budding startups can pitch ideas to potential investors and industry experts.
- • Infrastructure Support: Offer access to lab space, tools, and resources required for developing and testing prototypes.
The cell actively supports entrepreneurship within the institution, driving innovation and fostering a startup ecosystem.

Incubation and Startup Cell Activities Report for the Academic Year 2023-24
- • Srinivas Institute of Technology Valachil, Mangaluru and Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) celebrated National Startup Day in the college on 16/01/2024.The program was Presided by Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Maya D, Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde IIC-Convener, Dr. Soorya Krishna K, HOD ECE Department, Mr. Clitus DSouza Event coordinator. - • SIT IIC and Incubation and Startup Cell, in association with GDSC, SIT Karnataka, organized sessions on “Startup and Ethical Steps” on May 6, 2024, at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. It was a day-long event focusing on startup strategies and the ethical steps necessary for budding entrepreneurs. The event featured several startup talks from the following prominent speakers: Adarsh Prabhu, Associate Director – Technology & Innovations at Niveus Solutions Pvt. - • The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in association with Incubation and Startup cell and IIC hosted a session on "Startup Initiatives: Workshop on Process Design and Development" on May 28, 2024, at 9 AM for Innovation and Design Thinking with a motto of building Entrepreneurship & Start up skills among students.
- • IIC, in collaboration with EDP, the Incubation and Startup Cell, AIMES, AMARA, and ASMA Associations, organized a session titled "How to Plan for Startup: Legal and Ethical Steps," led by Prof. Shailesh S. Shetty on July 5, 2024.
- • Webinar on "Your Start-Up Success: Ethical and Legal Essentials," held on July 6, 2024, organized by EDP CELL & Incubation and Startup Cell at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru, featuring Mr. Bharath H. C., Managing Director of ACRANTON TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, Davanagere.

- • Organized a session on “How to plan for Start up and legal and ethical steps” "on 30-05-2023. Mr. Praveen Olekar, Co-Founder & CEO, Nixbees, Bangalore was the resource person. - • The session on "Bootcamp on Startup Careers" conducted by the SIT Incubation and Startup Cell in association with SSOSC on 17-6-2023. Mr. Sujith D, a Frontend Developer at Recruiterflow and an entrepreneur, shared his practical insights and experiences with the attendees. - • A session on "From Dream to Reality: Unleashing the Entrepreneur Within You" was organized by the SIT Incubation and Startup Cell in association with SSOSC on 17-6-2023. Mr. Mohammed Raees, Founder, Rooloo Innovations Pvt Ltd was the resource person.
