BLOOD DONATION CAMP by AIMES and Youth Red Cross SIT

The Association of Integrated Marine Engineering Students (AIMES) and Youth Red Cross SIT have jointly organized a blood donation camp on 27th February 2019 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru in association with Indian Red Cross society, Dakshina Kannada and Srinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre Mukka.

Mr. Prabhakar Sharma, Hon. Secretary of Indian Red Cross society, Dakshina Kannada (Dist) was the Chief Guest. Coordinator of Indian Red Cross society, Dakshina Kannada Mr. Edward Vas, managing committee members Mr. Ravi D.K & Mr. Praveen and faculty advisor for Youth Red Cross SIT Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar were among the dignitaries on the dias.

Mr. Prabhakar Sharma addressed the students about the importance of blood donation & their service to the society towards emergency blood requirements and organ donation. He also appreciated the Institute for organizing the blood camp on short notice, when there is a serious shortage of blood in the city. Principal Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, congratulated Marine Department & the Youth Red Cross unit of the college on organizing the camp. Dr. Shankar K S, HOD, Dept. of Marine Engineering, spoke about the significance of social service and thanked the management of the college for the support extended in organizing the camp.

The Programme was invoked by Mr. Mahadev and Mr. Dayesh. President of AIMES Mr.Chethan D welcomed the gathering and faculty advisor for AIMES Prof. Tony K Sebastian proposed the vote of thanks.

A total of 126 students and faculty members have donated blood in the camp. The Indian Red Cross society Mangaluru unit was thankful to the faculty members, students and the Management of the Institute for all the support extended in their time of need.
