Smile for Health – Free Dental Check-up Camp On April 4th, 2025, the Association of Information Science and Engineering (AISE), in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit and Srinivas Dental Sciences Mukka, organized a Free Dental check up titled Smile for Health – Free Dental Check-up Camp for students and faculty of Srinivas Institute of Technology. This initiative aimed to promote awareness about oral hygiene and provide free dental consultation to the campus community. The dental camp was conducted by a team of experienced dental professionals and student doctors from Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, who provided consultations, basic checkups, and shared dental hygiene tips. The event witnessed active participation from students and staff members, reflecting a growing awareness towards oral health. The session was well coordinated by Spoorthi & Priyanka P of 6th Semester ISE, with the support of NSS volunteers. The camp facilitated over 50+ dental checkups, raising awareness and encouraging preventive dental care among the participants. A key highlight of the event was the enthusiastic involvement of students and the informative interaction with dental professionals, who explained the importance of regular checkups, correct brushing techniques, and the effects of poor oral hygiene. The success of this Dental Camp was made possible by the support of Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, along with the guidance of Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the IS&E Department, and the diligent efforts of Prof. Rakesh Mallya, NSS Coordinator and the meticulous coordination by Prof. Sowmya, Staff Advisor of AISE, and Ms. Aparna N, Event Coordinator. By promoting preventive oral care and health awareness, this dental camp not only benefited participants but also strengthened community engagement efforts by the department and the NSS unit. It served as a valuable platform for students to gain exposure to basic healthcare practices and understand the importance of social responsibility. The collaborative efforts between the technical and medical institutions emphasized the power of interdisciplinary teamwork in addressing public health concerns. Such initiatives foster a culture of care, awareness, and holistic development among students, encouraging them to be proactive contributors to society beyond academics.
