Internship Insights: Presenting Professional Experience On April 5, 2025, the Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) at Srinivas Institute of Technology, in association with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), organized an impactful event titled "Internship Insights: Presenting Professional Experience." The session was specifically designed for 8th semester students to present and reflect on their internship experiences, allowing them to demonstrate the technical and soft skills they acquired during their industry exposure. The event aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by encouraging students to articulate their learning outcomes, challenges faced, and real-world applications of the knowledge they gained during their internships. Students showcased their experiences through structured presentations and live demonstrations, covering a wide range of domains including MERN stack development, Android application building, machine learning, web development, cloud technologies, and data analytics. Each student or team walked the audience through their project goals, tools and technologies used, problem-solving approaches, and key takeaways. This activity not only enhanced their communication skills but also helped them build confidence in presenting technical work to a professional audience. The event created a platform for peer learning and professional feedback. Faculty members and mentors appreciated the students' efforts and provided constructive suggestions, highlighting the importance of aligning academic projects with industry trends, maintaining professional documentation, and continuously upgrading one's technical skills. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of time management, teamwork, and proactive learning during internships. The session served as a rehearsal for future interviews and project presentations, preparing students to confidently face recruiters and stakeholders. The event was well-supported by the institution's leadership. Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology, praised the students for their hard work and emphasized the importance of internships in shaping industry-ready graduates. Dr. Praveen Shenoy, IIC Coordinator, ensured the event aligned with the goals of IIC to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical learning. Prof. Sudarshan K, Head of the ISE Department, provided continuous guidance throughout the planning and execution of the event. The entire session was smoothly coordinated by Prof. Sowmya, Event Coordinator of IIC and Internship Coordinator of the ISE Department, who ensured that every student got an opportunity to present and gain meaningful feedback. Overall, "Internship Insights: Presenting Professional Experience" was a highly engaging and educational event that empowered students to reflect on their professional growth, learn from their peers, and receive expert advice. It served as a motivational and confidence-building platform that reinforced the value of internships in transforming students into capable and industry-ready professionals.
