Innovation Development – Intellectual Property Rights for Startups

The Department of MCA, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) & IPR Cell organized a talk on 'Innovation Development – Intellectual Property Rights for Startups' on 14th March 2025. Mr. Vivek V Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Marine Engineering, Srinivas Institute of Technology, was the resource person. He provided valuable insights into patents, copyrights, trademarks, and their role in protecting startup innovations. The session covered the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR), the process of obtaining patents, and how startups can leverage IPR for business growth. The talk was highly interactive, with engaging discussions and case studies. The event concluded with a Q&A session, followed by a vote of thanks by Prof. Swapnil Pai, Event Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the guest speaker and all dignitaries for their support. The session proved beneficial in enhancing participants’ understanding of IPR and its impact on entrepreneurship.
