Inauguration of 3 day Workshop on “INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AND APPLICATIONS OF IoT”

The Inaugural function of 3 day Workshop on “INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AND APPLICATIONS OF IoT was held on 25th July 2019 in Srinivas Institute of Technology, valachil, Mangaluru. Dr. Shrikantha S. Rao, Prof. and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, NITK Surathkal was the chief guest. The function was presided over by Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology.

Dr. Shrikantha S Rao, in his address, elaborated on how the present manufacturing sector is moving towards industrial IoT. Also he explained on the research areas where artificial intelligence is being used for tool optimization. He advised the students to start exploring the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence to make them more employable in coming years.

Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, congratulated the organising members of the workshop and also quoted that, the replacement of traditional machining method with IoT led to more productivity in the manufacturing sector. Also he advised participants to actively participate in the workshop to enrich their knowledge. Dr. Shankar K.S, HOD of Marine Engineering, Convenor of workshop briefed about the 3 day programmes and he mentioned that more than 50 participants of various colleges have registered for the workshop.

Coordinators of the workshop Prof. Chandra Jogi, welcomed the delegates and Prof. Nithin Joshuva proposed the vote of thanks. Master of ceremony was done by Prof. Vivek Vijay Kumar.
