Hands on Session on Prior Art Search

Department of Mechanical Engineering in Association with IPR cell has conducted a hands on session on Prior Art search in relation to Patenting for the final year students of the department in the CAD lab on 27 & 28th August 2019. Prof. Jayaram Thumbe, member of the IPR cell has briefed the students of on the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and specifically the importance of Patenting. The program has been organised to make the students aware of the patent application process and prior art search. Students also had the hands on prior art searchfor the patenting. Students made themselves comfortable in using the websites meant for patent search both Indian as well as foreign sites. In the program students also learnt to search journals through various websites.
