GENAIVATION 2025: Bootcamp Internship on Intelligence Innovation

From April 21 to May 12, 2025, under the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the joint organization of the Departments of Information Science & Engineering (ISE) and Computer Science & Design (CSD), a 10-day internship bootcamp titled GENAIVATION 2025: Bootcamp Internship on Intelligence Innovation – From Models to Manuscripts concluded with great success. The bootcamp featured intensive sessions led by Mr. Prashath Kannadaguli, a trainer from Dhaarini Academy, Bangalore. Over 30 enthusiastic students from ISE, CSD, AI-DS, EC, and Aeronautical Engineering departments participated in the program. The sessions began with a Python refresher and steadily progressed through foundational to advanced deep learning topics including Neural Networks, Backpropagation, ANN Optimizers, CNNs, Transfer Learning, RNNs, LSTM, GRU, Autoencoders, GANs, and Reinforcement Learning. The training followed a structured regression-based approach, helping students develop both strong theoretical understanding and practical application skills through quizzes and mini projects. Apart from technical training, the bootcamp also emphasized research-oriented learning. Students were trained to explore scholarly databases, review literature, and present their findings—essential skills for academic research. On Day 8, students submitted innovative project ideas, which are currently under review by Dhaarini Academy for potential conversion into conference papers. The internship was supported by Prof. Sudarshan K., Head of the Departments of ISE and CSD, whose continuous encouragement and close monitoring contributed greatly to its success. Valuable support and guidance were also extended by Prof. Nagaraj Hebbar, HOD AI-DS, Dr. Soorya Krishna, HoD EC, Dr. Praveen Shenoy, HoD AE, and Dr. Dheeraj Hebri, Head T&P Department. The internship was coordinated by Prof. Rakesh Mallya, EC Dept and Prof. Sowmya, ISE & CSD Dept Association Coordinator, whose efforts ensured the smooth and impactful execution of the program. GENAIVATION 2025 stood as more than just a training camp—it served as a launchpad for student research, innovation, and academic growth. With its mission to bridge the gap between theoretical models and scholarly manuscripts, the bootcamp fostered an ecosystem of creativity, collaboration, and scientific exploration. Future editions of such internships hold great promise in guiding students toward research excellence and conference-level contributions.
