Freshers’ Day-2019

Fresher’s day-2019, an orientation program for the First year B.E. and B.Arch students was held on 8th August 2019 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru. The function was presided over by Sri. CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of A. Shama Rao Foundation. Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, Pro-Chancellor of Srinivas University and Vice president of A. Shama Rao Foundation, Smt. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, Director Srinivas Group of Colleges, Mangaluru and Smt. Mitra S. Rao, Secretary of A. Shama Rao Foundation were the guests of honour.

Sri. CA. A. Raghvendra Rao, in his presidential address advised the newly inducted engineering students and their parents that students have to love the subjects, mastery over the language, build a strong educational foundation during the four years of Engineering study and strive hard to go up in the ladder of success. He also emphasised the need of taking guidance from faculty members and parents to be successful in their carrier.

Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, in his address to the newly inducted engineering students and their parents that Technology is keep on changing and will happen with good engineers. Institution is encouraging the students to make good projects during the course of engineering study. Parents should be in constant touch with the faculties to know the progress of their ward.

Smt. Vijayalakshmi R. Rao adviced the students to work hard and bring good name to the institution. Smt. Mitra S. Rao appealed the students to be aware of the surroundings and to select right kind of friends. Also advised to the students to have a passion to do new things without harming the nature.

Dr. Shrinivasa Mayya D, Principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology, while welcoming the freshers, presented the bird’s eye view about the rapid growth of the Institute since 2006. He also explained the facilities and opportunities made available in the institute to the students along with the rules and regulations of Visvesvaraya Technological University. He also listed various achievements of the students of SIT in university level. Prof. Jayaram Thumbe delivered a lecture on “Engineering – Success path”.

The program was started with an invocation by Ms. Jyothi, Ms. Khrushitha and Ms. Purvi of third year B.E. and Dr. Shivakumar GS., Head of the Computer Science Engineering welcomed the gathering. Senior students shared their experience in the college, while newly joined students and their parents expressed their aim and expectation from the institute. Prof. Anant Kumar Kulkarni, Convenor of the program proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Ambika Malyya and Ms. Delrin Dmello anchored the program.
